I have been acting for a while now and have enjoyed the experience of being on the set of commercials and series. Most recently, my agent got a call for me to go for a part in a play.

So, I get a call for this audition for a strong female lead in this play and I am super nervous about it.

Doesn't my bestie get all amped and schedules 3 phone calls for us to go over lines together, then she arranges another call for my God children to be the audience. Further to this she sets up a video chat so that she can ensure I am using the right gestures while I recite my lines.

Not done yet. The director asks for me to deliver my lines in patois.

My bestie arranges a call for us for her hubby to read the lines because he has mastered the

language and accent.

A special someone gets wind of this and chips in ensure I am at my best for this exciting opportunity. ​

Moral of the story - your circle should want to see you win.

They should clap the loudest when you have good news.

They should be passionate about you, your brand and encourage you to grow.

I am so thankful for my circle of positive, genuine people. They care about me as much as they care about themselves. It is important to them that I feel good, that my goals are met and that our energies are focused on navigating towards success.

Being around this sort of company makes life easier. It's a drama free zone where we practice positivity and it is authentically demonstrated. We have each other's best interests at heart all the time. ​

We spend so much time together that this inner circle of my has become my ray of light, my biggest influences. They are impactful, bright, energetic and uplift me.

This is love and this is why it is important to surround yourself with positive people.

Because we become like the 5 people we spend most of our time with.
